Friday, 8 December 2017 / Portfolio review / 10:00

As part of the international symposium of the World Biennial of Student Photography entitled “Photography as Methodology of Visual Research” the guest of the Photography Study Program is Donald Weber, a renowned photographer and lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). He has received a number of awards for his photographic work, namely: the World Press Photo, the Lange-Taylor Prize, the Duke and Duchess of York Prize, etc. He is a recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship.

He has published four books. His latest one entitled War Sand, will be presented on Thursday, 7th December at 5pm on the Photography Study Program premises, Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad. The book War Sand is the result of a years-long research on war and historical victims, which has shifted the authors, otherwise documentary approach, to a more radical inclination towards the concept and research of the text as an important factor in contemporary art practice.

The lecture is open to everyone interested.

Donald Weber is one of the jury members of this year’s Biennale of Student Photography in the organisation of the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad.
The project is supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
